IMPROV SCENES WITH JODY KUJAWA
Creating strong characters choices, and honing in on your listening skills is a cornerstone for any actor who wants to perfect their acting abilities. Through improvisation and short scenes, use those skills to take risks, make strong character choices, develop character relationships, and pursue an objective. We recommend actors take this class more than once, as this training builds the foundation for strong acting habits.
LIFE IS A CABARET
If you love to sing and you love musical theater then this class is for you! In this brand new class, we will workshop pieces for a performance cabaret at the end of the semester. We will take a journey together to find a song that speaks to you. You will learn how to select songs that showcase your talent and abilities with an emphasis on exploring song interpretation. We will cover stage presence and how to communicate with your audience while staying true to yourself. You will conclude this class with two performance ready, contrasting songs and an understanding of who you are as a performer.
DEVELOPING YOUR VOCAL AUDITION
Christina Stroup (actor, director, and vocal coach) has developed a class for actors to work one-on-one to improve your audition songs! Actors will work on solo pieces and in an ensemble to refine musical singing skills. This class will focus on strengthening vocal technique while preparing solo audition pieces of music. While songs will be provided by the instructor, actors may provide a song of their choice for one-on-one coaching sessions. Performances will be shared regularly in class.
