Our summer musical, Grease, opens in a mere two days, and it’s about time we get to know our actors! Take a little time to get to know Jenna Kelly (Sandy), Matias Valero (Danny), Christina Stroup (Rizzo), and Ole Dack (Kenickie) as we ask them five questions each about the show, their rehearsals, and their high school selves.
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH SANDY
Sandy is the newest addition to Rydell High and is still trying to navigate her way around the halls as well as her summer fling, Danny Zuko. But maybe her new friends, the Pink Ladies, can help her win him over.
Jenna Kelly, tackling the role of Sandy, recently played Suzanne in the NorShor’s production of Don’t Dress for Dinner.
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH DANNY
Danny is the leader of the T-Birds who is always “cool” with an easy-going charm. Playing Danny is Matias Valero. Matias was last seen as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast and was also in Sweeney Todd.
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH RIZZO
Tough as nails, Rizzo is the witty, sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies. Rizzo is played by Christina Stroup, who has graced the NorShor stage more than once this season. Her two previous shows include Don’t Dress for Dinner and The Government Inspector.
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH KENICKIE
Kenickie is best friends with Danny and a leader among the T-Birds. He plays off as if he is too cool to care, but there’s a deeper side he doesn’t want people to see.
Kenickie is played by Ole Dack who starred in Love’s Labor’s Lost at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
