New Play Festival Readers

The Women in Theatre - New Play Festival is seeking enthusiastic and thoughtful individuals to join our play reading committee! This festival seeks to provide a space to amplify stories of those who have experienced womanhood in all its intersectionality, including cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming voices.

As a play reading committee member, you’ll help shape this festival by reading and evaluating submissions. This is your opportunity to uplift underrepresented voices and help curate a festival that celebrates the richness and diversity of women’s stories.

What We’re Looking For:

• Readers with a passion for new work and storytelling.
• A commitment to reviewing submissions thoughtfully and fairly.
• An interest in fostering representation and amplifying marginalized voices in theatre.

Details:

• Time Commitment: Reading will take place from January to March 2025. Each reader will be assigned a manageable portion of submissions to review.
• Meetings: Participate in discussions (via Zoom or in person) to select the final plays for the festival.
