Women in Theatre Festival - Call for Directors

Seeking 5-8 women to direct short plays and monologues written by women playwrights
Our beloved New Play Festival, formerly known as What She Said, has transformed to better reflect its core mission of elevating the voices of women artists. The festival, which will take place June 6th at the NorShor Theatre, celebrates diversity, creativity, and the power of women's voices in the world of theatre.
Seeking:
Directors for the 2025 Women in Theatre, New Play Festival.
Submit your interest before March 17th.
There will be a stipend of $100 for directing.
Experience is helpful but not required.
Directors Commit to:
Read a variety of pre-selected plays and narrow them down to 3 that you’d be interested in directing.
Cast your play with local actors. Duluth Playhouse will hold auditions in April 2025.
Work with local designers to mount the play.
Create a rehearsal schedule that works for you and you actors.
Be available for Tech Week (June 2-4).
